COPYRIGHT POLICY

ORIGINALITY

  1. The author guarantees that the submitted article is original, written by the stated author(s), has not been previously published, does not contain any unlawful statements, does not infringe upon the rights of others, and is subject to copyright held exclusively by the author(s) and free from any third-party rights. The author also confirms that all necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained.

AUTHOR AND PUBLISHER RIGHTS

  1. Authors are required to transfer publishing rights to the DESA (Journal of Design and Architecture). While the copyright of authorship remains with the author(s), all accepted manuscripts become the property of DESA as the publisher.
  2. The publishing rights include the right to reproduce and distribute the article in any form, including photographic reproduction and translation into other languages.

PUBLICATION POLICY

  1. Articles published by DESA may not be used for commercial purposes.
DESA (Journal of Design and Architecture) will publish (or has published) the article once the editorial process has been successfully completed and the journal or its sublicensee has agreed to do so.
  2. DESA reserves the right to make editorial adjustments to punctuation, spelling, capitalization, or usage as deemed appropriate.
  3. The author acknowledges that the article will be made publicly available and freely accessible to readers. DESA is also authorized to sublicense the rights granted under this agreement.
  4. Authors are encouraged to post their work online (for example, in institutional repositories or on personal websites) both before and during the submission process, as this can lead to productive exchanges as well as earlier and greater citation of the published work.
  5. This publication policy does not prevent authors from using the content of their manuscripts for their own purposes.

PERMISSIONS FOR THIRD PARTIES

  1. If a third party requests permission to reprint an article, DESA will contact the author for approval.
  2. Other authors who wish to use images or figures from previously published articles must obtain written permission from the original publisher and cite the original source in the image caption. Such written permission must be included with the final manuscript submitted to DESA.

JOINT AUTHORSHIP

  1. If the article is co-authored, the undersigned guarantees that they have been authorized by all co-authors to sign this agreement on their behalf and agree to inform their co-authors of the terms of this agreement.

ADDITIONAL AGREEMENTS

  1. Authors may enter into separate, non-exclusive contractual arrangements for the distribution of the published version of the work (for example, posting it to an institutional repository or including it in a book), provided that acknowledgment is given to its initial publication in this journal.
