Abstract

Gastro diplomacy comes from the combination of the word gastronomy and diplomacy. The word gastronomy has the meaning of food or the study of culinary arts. Various efforts have been made by the Indonesian government to introduce Indonesian culture with dishes. However, these efforts are still in the form of seasonal activities and not for long-term sustainability. This essay tries to show the facts that the government has not explored deeply the potential of gastro diplomacy. To understand this phenomenon, the author uses the concept of gastro diplomacy and uses a qualitative-descriptive method. Using secondary data, namely the study of literature. The results of this study suggested two policies or strategies that could be implemented for the successful of Indonesian gastro diplomacy.
