ANALISIS TERHADAP INVASI AMERIKA SERIKAT TERHADAP IRAK DARI SUDUT PANDANG HUKUM INTERNASIONAL
Abstract
War is a condition of hostility by committing acts of violence between two or more groups. In ancient times war referred to armed conflict, but in the modern era it could include technological and industrial superiority. Even so today there are still armed conflicts in the world. In the modern international world, there are already rules set by international institutions to regulate the existence of war. International law provides that invasion of a sovereign state into another is only permitted to counter military aggression. However, in 2003 there was a war between the US-led coalition and the Iraqi government led by Saddam Hussein. The war was criticized by many parties because it was considered to violate international law and also raised questions about the UN's powerlessness in stopping a superpower. This paper is made to analyze how the United States invasion of Iraq is seen from international law, what was violated and how it impacts on the world.
