21st CENTURY STATECRAFT: DIPLOMASI DIGITAL AMERIKA SERIKAT ERA PRESIDEN OBAMA

Abstract

The proliferation of information and communication technology has affected on the implementation of diplomatic practice. The rising of internet and social media have made diplomats and foreign policy practitioners easier for taking place in international arena. The gap between United State of America and Arab and Moeslim world has made President Obama to commit to make a more transparent and opened government to international public. To actualize his commitement, State Department of USA initiates 21st Century Statecraft as form of Obama's commitment. This research discusses 21st Century Statecraft as digital diplomacy of USA through the use of technology.

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah mempengaruhi pelaksanaan praktik diplomatik. Maraknya media internet dan media sosial telah membuat diplomat dan praktisi kebijakan luar negeri lebih mudah untuk melakukannya di arena internasional. Kesenjangan antara Amerika Serikat dan Arab dan dunia Moeslim telah membuat Presiden Obama berkomitmen untuk membuat pemerintahan yang lebih transparan dan terbuka ke publik internasional. Untuk mengaktualisasikan komitmennya, Departemen Luar Negeri AS memprakarsai 21st Century Statecraft sebagai bentuk komitmen Obama. Penelitian ini membahas 21st Century Statecraft sebagai diplomasi digital USA melalui pemanfaatan teknologi.
