Abstract

This study aims to describe of the European Union Implementation in sustainable development on the export Indonesian palm oil in 2009-2018. To answer this problem, the researchers analyzed the renewable energy directive and direction of fuel quality in the transportation sector as one of the parameters on sustainable development goals, which has a relationship with Indonesian palm oil exports. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. In collecting data, researchers conducted field studies with interviews, library research, online searches, and using purposive techniques to determine the source. While the technique for analyzing data uses data triangulation. The results of this study are the analysis of regulatory relationships issued by the European Union implementation in sustainable development on the export Indonesian palm oil, using the parameters of EU renewable energy directive ( Directive 2009/28/EC and delegated act of renewable energy 2018. The conclusions of this study indicate there is a relationship between EU regulations and regulations in the renewable energy sector such as EURED, Palm Oil Resolution and Rainforest Deforestation, ILUC. While the efforts made by the Government of Indonesia in responding to the regulations issued were diplomatic efforts and negotiations in the form of Indonesian government work visits, negotiations in international forums, negotiations by Indonesian non-governmental organizations namely IASI, and strengthening ISPO standards to be accepted on the EU market.
