Abstract

Bandar Udara Internasional Jawa Barat (BIJB) located in Kertajati, Majalengka District is an International Gate of West Java. As an international gate, an airport requires cultural identity, describing country/district character where the airport located. Each district in West Java has a diversity of local ornaments than can be applied to an identity of an International Airport. In addition, the natural beauty, the richness of the land of West Java can be a source of inspiration in design and architecture. This article aims to examine the application of aesthetic elements as local identity in the interior of Passenger Terminal in BIJB Kertajati. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Hoped that this article can inspire designers and architects to become more familiar with the unique and diversity of culture potential local districts. The cultural richness and local wisdom can be further developed and applied.
