The Importance of Political Awareness in Regional Elections for the Development of West Bandung Regency

Abstract

This study aims to explore the importance of political awareness in improving the quality of democracy and public participation in regional elections, as well as its impact on regional development. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with techniques such as interviews, observations, and literature studies to examine the factors influencing public political awareness. The findings indicate that increasing political awareness not only contributes to higher voter participation but also influences smarter and more responsible decision-making in choosing leaders. Factors such as political education, access to accurate information, and active involvement in social organizations play a significant role in enhancing public political awareness. Therefore, the role of local governments, educational institutions, and community organizations is crucial in fostering greater political awareness to achieve sustainable progress in West Bandung Regency.
