Author Guide
The general Author Guidelines are as follow:
1. Divide the manuscript into two parts i.e. title page and main/body page.
2. Title page contains the Title of the manuscriprt and author[s] identities and statements.
ARTic invites contributions of two types:
Contributions should fall within the scope of the journal outlined in the statement of Focus and Scope. In particular, the journal encourages the submission of manuscripts investigating social-cultural impacts on design and reporting of design research with practical relevance.
1. Design case studies/research results
Main/body page of the research result manuscript consist of Introduction, Method, Result and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if applicable), details of symbols (if any), and References. The template of research result manuscript can be downloaded here.
2. Academic writings
Main/body page of the academic writing consist of Introduction, Discussion, Conclusion, detail of symbols (if any), and References. The template of academic writing manuscript can be downloaded here.
Preparing for Submission
Submission of a manuscript implies that the paper has not been submitted to or published in any other journal, in the same or similar form, in English or in any other language.
Peer Review Process
To facilitate the journal's peer review process, authors should make efforts to ensure that information about the authors' identities do not appear anywhere in the manuscript. If an author is cited, "Author" and year should be used in the bibliography and footnotes instead of the author's name, paper title, etc. The author's name should also be removed from the document's Properties, which in Microsoft Word is found under the File menu.
Format
The format of the manuscript should be created in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice, anonymous identity and with the template downloaded from our website.
Fee
Submitting papers to ARTic is free of charge. Printed out journal, if required, will be charged Rp. 350.000,00 excluding courier cost.
Language
Manuscripts must be in English. Both English and American spellings are acceptable. Authors fluent in another language are encouraged to provide, in addition to the full manuscript, a title page and an abstract in the other language.
Units
The international system of units (SI) should be used. If other units are mentioned, their equivalent in SI should be provided.
Title
Only a concise and informative title should be included. Please remove information about the authors' names and affiliations for the peer review process.
Abstract
A manuscript must include an abstract containing no more than 200 words. It should indicate the techniques used and summarize the most important results. Statements about relevance to design practice should be included (25-50 words).
Length of a Manuscript
A paper with maximum 8000 words is appropriate. The content is equal or less than 27 pages, and the file size is less than 10 MB.
Footnotes
The use of footnotes is discouraged. Instead, they should be incorporated into the text.
Keywords
3 to 6 keywords should be provided after the abstract.
Text
The text should be uses a 12-point Times New Roman font on A4 paper size, one [1] colum, 1.5 spaced; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses).
Figures
All figures minimum 300 dpi) should be cited in the text and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. A caption (Times new Roman font 10-point) of no more than 15 words should be provided. The preferred formats for figures are PNG and JPEG. All figures should be placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
Tables
All tables should be cited in the text and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. A title (Times New Roman font 10-point) of no more than 15 words and a legend explaining any abbreviation used in that table should be provided. All tables should be placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
URL
All URL addresses in the text (e.g., https://ojs.unikom.ac.id/index.php/artic/) should be activated and ready to click.
Multimedia Files
Authors are encouraged to submit multimedia files that are essential to the conclusions of the manuscript. Multimedia files, such as 3-dimensional computer models, videos, and interactive demonstrations, will be published as online extra to the manuscript. The preferred formats are MPEG and Quicktime.
Permissions
Authors are required to obtain permission to reproduce previously copyrighted materials from other sources in both print and electronic form.
References
The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. The APA system of referencing should be used. Some citation examples from the APA Style Essentials are shown below:
